NPC Career Services
If you are trying to decide on a major or choose a career, NPC Career Services is
here to help. Interest inventories are a way to clarify your career path. NPC Career
Services has a variety of tools to help you learn more about your values, interests,
personality, skills, and personal goals.
Explore Careers in Fields of Interest through these four sections below: Read, Talk,
Observe, and Experience.
Read
Read about jobs in career fields of interest. The following assessment sites can help.*
Talk
Talk with a variety of people in career fields you find interesting. Most people like
to talk about their jobs and their industry. Even if you decide that a job or field
is not right for you, valuable information will be learned. You may do an informal
interview with:
- Relatives, friends, neighbors, etc.
- NPC faculty, staff, or students
- Alumni and Employers
Observe
Observe and "job shadow" professionals in their workplace to get a sense of their
day-to-day responsibilities, challenges, and work environment. Ask about our informational
interview contacts.
Experience
Experience work first hand through work study, internships, or volunteer and service
learning opportunities. Seek Internships through our NPC CareerLink page and also visit our Internships page.
