Robert Feighl grew up in Orange County California until he was 13 and moved to Hot
Springs in 1979 when his parents retired. His father worked in aerospace in electrical
engineering. His mom was administrator for several famous pilots that later were in
NASA. She also owned and operated a pre-school and later a resort on Lake Hamilton.
His father exposed him to electronics and computers from an early age of 5 or 6 and
had him writing basic programming at 8. So, technology always came easy for him. Through
this experience, he was able to help many architects and engineers begin using computers
and computer networks. He has over forty years of public speaking experience in venues
of 100 of more people to as large as 1500 or more. He has been a student and teacher
of the Bible as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses since age of 8 and currently gives weekly
public discourses in both English and Spanish.
He attended GCCC and received his Computer Info Systems degree from NPCC. He has a
BS in Information Technology from Western Governors University and is currently working
on his MS in Cybersecurity. He worked in the field of mechanical engineering designing
air conditioning and plumbing systems for commercial buildings for over 30 years before
teaching at NPC and still has an engineering office where he designs projects during
the summer. He began teaching at NPC in the Fall of 2010, and he typically teaches
PC Hardware maintenance, Computer Networking, Networks with Windows Server, Networking
with Routers and Switches, Network Security, and Network Design.
He is FAA Licensed Private Pilot and Remote Drone Pilot and teaches FAA remote pilot
cert prep class for NPC continuing education. He hopes get his remote license in the
future. He also enjoys Scuba diving, Computer gaming, and any activity outdoors and
on the lake.
