Dr. Tamara St.Marthe currently teaches Speech Communication here at NPC. She received
her B.A. in Mass Communication from Midwestern State University, her M.A. in Interpersonal
and Organizational Communication, and her Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration
from University of Arkansas. Her master’s degree focused on developing and employing
effective verbal and written communication skills and strategies in order to achieve
success in the workplace, as well as in interpersonal, romantic and family relationships.
Her doctoral studies focused in part on the trends, issues and problems affecting
women seeking leadership positions in higher education.
Dr. St. Marthe also taught Fundamentals of Communication (Public Speaking at the University
of Arkansas- Fayetteville and University of Arkansas -Fort Smith for a total of three
years. In addition, she spent three and a half years representing graduate and minority
students and collaborating with key administrators by serving on the Graduate Dean's
Student Advisory Board, Graduate Council Committee, Academic Appeals Committee, University
Health Advisory Committee, and the Library Student Advisory Committee at the University
of Arkansas.
Dr. St.Marthe is extremely passionate about student success and enjoys teaching Speech
Communication here at NPC. She enjoys and values the opportunity to influence student
success here at NPC. In addition, she is also currently serving on committees here
at NPC which seek to ensure student and faculty success.
Dr. St.Marthe also enjoys being a mother and takes pride in raising her teenage son.
In her spare time, she enjoys singing, quality time with her son, traveling, and the
outdoors.
